Knott’s Scary Farm 2019 Announcements Will Haunt Your Dreams

Knott’s Scary Farm is far more than a collection of haunted houses and mazes. Every night, monsters sneak out onto the streets and turn this park’s midways into terrifying scare zones. From the world famous Ghost Town Streets to the Boardwalk area filled with evil clowns, there’s nowhere to hide in Knott’s Scary Farm…it’s pure nightmare fuel.

Knott’s Scary Farm is revered as the largest and most haunting Halloween event in Southern California! The fully transformed theme park (Knott’s Berry Farm) features unique haunted houses, mazes and attractions, sinister shows, thrill rides in the dark, and thousands of horrifying creatures lurking in the fog from September 19 through November 2.

Scare actors pouring into the audience at the compeltion of the announcement event

Jeff Tucker, our Master of “scare-emonies”, took to the stage for a Knott’s Scary Farm Announcement Event that was complete with musical performances and video interview vignettes in lieu of the maze designers taking the stage. We’re blown away that this is returning for the 47th season of Halloween–but we can see why it continues to live on.

The announcement that has us the most excited coming out of this event is undoubtedly “Origins: The Curse of Calico”. This all-new maze extends the Knott’s Ghost Town mythology into the Ghost Town scare zone as well as the long-running “The Hanging” show on the Calico Mine Stage.

Sarah Marshall is on trial for witchcraft and an evil fog drifts over the Wild West town. A sinister paranormal force is released and the Green Witch curses the town and transforms all of her accusers into a an evil horde of horrifying creatures.

It taps into the history of the park and the stories created during Ghost Town Alive! We can’t wait to experience this multifaceted scare.

The other new maze is “Wax Works,” which is set within an abandoned wax museum in which Dr. Augustus Scratch is crafting his latest “masterpieces”.

Guests will have to “take a closer look at gruesome works of art or become the newest masterpiece.” Absolutely bone chilling if you ask us.

Returning mazes include “The Depths,” “Dark Entities,” “Dark Ride,” “Pumpkin Eater,” “Paranormal Inc.,” and (for its final year) the interactive zombie shooter maze “Special Ops: Infected.” The returning scare zones are “CarnEvil,” “Forsaken Lake,” and “The Hollow,” in addition to the newly revamped Ghost Town area. Mazes and scare zones will both be receiving various upgrades and we look forward to being scared out of our minds…seriously.

Looking for somewhere to go for a breather while in the middle of your terrifying night? You will definitely enjoy Brian Henson’s “Puppet Up!: Uncensored” in the Charles M. Schulz Theatre. During this brand new show, audience members are able to throw out suggestions and incredible puppeteers are able to turn them into a hilarious no-holds-barred comedy sketch show. It’s the epitome of improv, and although they children are allowed at this event, we recommend having them sit this one out.

Returning entertainment includes “The Hanging” filled with celebrity foibles and follies, “Conjurers: Magic and Mirth” complete with comedy in the Bird Cage Theatre, and “Awaken the Dead” accompanied by Sugar Skull dancers.

The Timber Mountain Log Ride will also be returning to this year’s event with its Halloween Hootenanny transformation. You’ll be able to see appearances by the Green Witch and the Calico Coffin Creeper Band along with a glowing jack-o’-lantern labyrinth.

Can’t wait to get your hands on Scary Farm swag? The Bizarre Bazaar is already open and will be filled to the brim with themed merchandise until November 2.

Here’s a glimpse at the items made for this year’s event:

Scary Farm has joined in on the Spirit Jersey trend
T-shirts for the two new mazes,
Wax Works and Origins
There’s also a roach line…

We plan on visiting this event multiple times and thankfully Knott’s has a Scary Farm Pass that will allow us to attend every single night! For $100, we think its an amazing deal–but act fast! This offer ends on September 15 and pass holders are eligible for a $10 discount. If you only plan on visiting once, we recommend upgrading your single-scare ticket with “Fright and Fast Lane”. This enhancement gives you unlimited priority access to all mazes plus priority boarding on all Fast Lane rides including HangTime, GhostRider, Voyage to the Iron Reef. The price for this varies depending on the night, but we promise that it’s worth every penny.

Will you be joining us in the fog?
